Update RUSD Dresscodes

Update RUSD Dresscodes
The Issue
A majority of RUSD dress codes are old and un-updated, even the staff agree. Yet no one is taking action to change it.
A couple problems in most schools included in RUSD would be,
1, “pajama pants”, Students should feel comfortable, whether it seems unprofessional or not.
3. See above for undergarments. “Off the shoulder, low-cut tops, tank tops (less than 2 inches) torn off sleeves. Why should my upper chest and shoulders be seen as taboo? “ skirts or shorts shorter than mid-thigh” Completely ignored “Bare midriffs” It's a stomach, a pouch for your internal organs. An inch or three of stomach shouldn't cause men to lose reason or their moral compass, what about we focus on fixing the deeply rooted problem rather than sticking a set of rules that further the problem by giving it that sexual/rebellious stigma
6. “Hair shall be clean and neatly groomed” This one is simply ignored and for good reason. Many like the messy look and if that's what makes them feel best then why should their education be put at risk.
7. “Frayed holed or torn clothing which is revealing.” A direct reference to the undergarment issue which is directly targeted to girls
9. “Headgear, (Hats, Bandanas, headbands)” Many of those states could actually improve focus by keeping hair out of the eyes. “Wallet chains may not be worn in classrooms”.
Not only this but most of these rules aren't used by a lot of the staff, teachers have even shown confusion on when to dress code a student. The code now is plain messy and unadjusted to our modern society, what we need is a new structured dress code that will be used instead of ignored, for the student's and teacher's sake.
