Who is Tom Wilson Jr?

Only one of the most influential music producers of all time. Tom Wilson Jr.'s discography reads like a "best of the 60s" album.

Born and raised in Waco, TX, after graduating Cum Laude from Harvard in 1954 and starting his own record label, Tom Wilson became the first Black man to become a producer at Columbia Records. Tom Wilson Jr went on to produce the albums for Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground, Mothers of Invention, Sun Ra, The Animals, Hugh Masekela, and so many more. In fact, multiple albums he helped produce would propel several artists into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It is time for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to recognize Tom Wilson's accomplishments and all that he contributed to the music industry as a whole.

We ask that Greg Harris, the CEO of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame correct this by honoring Tom Wilson Jr. with the Ahmet Ertegun Award & formally recognize Tom Wilson Jr.
