This petition should serve as a catalyst for the Rock Island-Milan Board of Education to properly observe and recognize the civic, academic, and athletic contribution of one of it's strongest leaders, Coach Duncan Reid, with naming the basketball court in the Fieldhouse after him.  Coach Duncan Reid's 21 years of service to the Rock Island-Milan School district was one of success on and off the court.  Coach Reid was a tough, hard charging, and deliberate.  He expected the very best of his players and the students that he interacted with.  Furthermore, Coach Reid was, and still is, a legendary leader of men whose positive effects on this community are still being felt some 15 years since his departure from his post at Rock Island High School.  This petition is officially requesting that the Rock Island-Milan School District name the basketball court after Coach Duncan Reid and recognize the court forever more as "The Coach Duncan Reid Court."  It is being requested that the name of the court, "The Coach Duncan Reid Court", be inscribed onto the playing surface, in a place of prominence, in front of the home team's bench.
