Daniel Prude, a 41 year old black male, was murdered in the hands of the Rochester Police Department on March 23, 2020. After his brother, Joe, called the police concerned about Daniel’s suicidal thoughts (with a history of mental illness), Daniel was cuffed and taken to the ground in long johns and a white tank top in the freezing snow. Daniel shouted for his life and made noises signifying his struggle to breathe, but police continued to hold him down. In video footage recently released, it is seen that after a few minutes, Daniel’s body became limp. Daniel’s family and community deserve justice.
