Tesco express at Clifton Road Maida Vale, Is an unpleasant shopping experience, sub standard compared to the Marylebone, St John’s Wood and now Bayswater outlets (some of which offer salad bars and fresh bakery). The aisles in store always have many delivery palates abandoned in them causing obstacles, in addition to the many product placement promotion stands. Making your way around this store is an unwelcome challenge. The Fridges are difficult to access, the store is arranged badly with fruit & veg at the entrance and Meat by the check out?. The food stock and wine selection are not appropriate to the area and its customer base. The windows are filled with cheap confectionary displays, as one would find in a Pound store. The lines for check-out can also snake through the store making access to multi door fridges even more difficult. Assuming you have not been run over by a delivery Pallet or a baby stroller and do reach the check out, the staff are thankfully always nice. Many of the local residents and your customers demand better, and are happy to pay for this or walk the extra distant to Waitrose. We want a store that gives us the things we need locally and conveniently which adds to our community, not an un-inspirational stressful experience.
