Make Saddle Brook Designated as “Stigma-Free”

Make Saddle Brook Designated as “Stigma-Free”
The Issue
Hi, my name is Ryan Roy, I am an Autism Advocate for the People with Disabilities, especially within the Autism Spectrum Disorder of Bergen County and Beyond The Garden State!
Since Paramus became the first Town in Bergen County to become “Stigma Free”, I was hoping if Saddle Brook would be part of the bandwagon.
With Amanda Maher, who made me feel so inspired to make this become a worthy cause to advocate and fight for, this was an idea coming from my mind to have it be a reality, where there isn’t any shame to hide any Diagnosis of having a Developmental or Intellectual Disability, with hope, prayers and support given to help those of overcoming their struggles for what they are facing.
52 of the 70 Municipalities in Bergen County have declared themselves Stigma-Free. By signing this petition, you are pledging your support to make Saddle Brook a safer, more welcoming town for those suffering with mental illness. By educating our students and residents, we will help break the national stigma surrounding mental illness and join the county-wide campaign: http://www.co.bergen.nj.us/1429/STIGMA-FREE-Towns
For more details, please click on the link to understand more about the initiative for what Bergen County’s Division of Mental Health through the mission to impact many lives within the County itself: http://www.co.bergen.nj.us/1242/STIGMA-FREE-Zone
Along with the Stigma-Free Campaign Municipality Toolkit to instruct in how you have Saddle Brook be designated and make it official: http://www.co.bergen.nj.us/DocumentCenter/View/3370
It would help a lot to make a huge difference for what my vision of the future would be at Saddle Brook Township, thank you for your understanding in what I want to accomplish the goal.
Sincerely,
Ryan Roy,
Autism Advocate
