FWC: Don’t Kill - Relocate Gulf Breeze Bear & Cubs!
Why this petition matters

Stop A Mother Bear From Facing The Death Penalty For Protecting Her Cubs.
A mother bear recently killed a beloved pet dog in Gulf Breeze. This incident has resulted in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) placing traps to catch the mother bear. We urge the FWC to relocate the mother bear (+ cubs) and address the root cause of the human-bear conflicts within the Gulf Breeze community.
Gulf Breeze residents have not been securing their trash, which has led to an increase in bear-human conflicts. Many cities throughout Florida have been proactive in mitigating bear-human conflicts by providing residents with bear-proof trashcans. The mother bear that attacked the dog was likely acting in defense of her cubs.
