Summit Township has a two dog limit per household. Many people who rescue animals would give a home to more dogs but the bylaw makes it difficult. The bylaw does not allow for pet owners who are responsible citizens to help clean up the mess made by irresponsible breeding and lack of commitment of some pet owners. Those people who do offer a loving home to stray or abandoned animals also take responsible actions like spay and neutering ,provide veterinary care and insure healthy lifestyle for the animals
