Another majestic animal has been hunted down in Zimbabwe. On October 8th a German CEO, Ranier Schorr, paid $60,000 USD to kill one of the biggest bull elephants seen in Zimbabwe in the last three decades. This occurred right after the Zimbabwe government announced that it would not be prosecuting the American dentist, Walter Palmer, who killed Cecil the lion. People around the world are saying enough is enough.

It is time for Zimbabwe to take action. We are calling on the Zimbabwe government to end the issuing of permits for trophy and big game hunting.

These animals are not being hunted as a means of survival. They are being hunted by people who would rather spend $60,000 killing an elephant than give that money to help build a school in Zimbabwe. Trophy and big game hunting is outdated and it disregards the value of these creatures that are becoming harder and harder to replace.

We need to protect these animals; not issue permits to kill them. Many are endangered or threatened species that may not be around for future generations if we don’t take action. Hunters and their legal hunting permits are aiding the process of extinction rather than conservation.

Please help support this petition in our quest to finally ban trophy hunting and big-game hunting in Zimbabwe and ultimately, hopefully, across the world.
