First, I want to congratulate all those who are graduating this year, especially due to the unprecedented learning environment we faced. As a recent graduate of Robert Morris University this past December, I was looking forward at the opportunity to walk across the stage with friends and in front of family. One of the proudest achievements in our young lives is being able to celebrate our college success WITH loved ones; the ones who care the most to see us succeed. 

Robert Morris University has already decided to have separate ceremonies for each of the schools within RMU. Having separate ceremonies greatly reduces the amount of people congregating at the same time, making the ceremonies much smaller. To disallow students to bring just 2 guests to the graduation ceremonies is unjust. Nearly 20% of the US population has been vaccinated, majority of which are adults ages 45+. This is the same group of people that many of the students would like to bring as a guest. Accommodations such as a mask requirement and the already established, separate ceremonies, can make this work.
