There are thousands of couples with weddings    planned this summer who have been given the really  difficult news that their long hoped for day of joy and celebration has had to be put on hold. Especially now that professional sport in England is to resume imminently with close contact of some sort inevitable in an inside setting during some of the event, the opening of car dealerships with again the same sort of risks- ALL apparently at an acceptable level of risk, these couples cannot understand why their wedding cannot go ahead even in a scaled back and safe way with guests, many of whom are couples or larger household groups,  practicing safe distancing 

Some will prefer to postpone their wedding but for those prepared to scale back with no catered for party, limited guests, and happy to be safer than sports events, or car showrooms WHY should they be denied the chance. Life is more than just generating money; it’s been said getting sport or football back will lift national morale. Well so will allowing safe weddings to go ahead. If all participants are content to be there and happy to satisfy the safe distancing rules, what harm is likely to occur? None and plenty of good will be done.
