Demand a change to Visitation Restrictions “STOP the INHUMANITY”
Why this petition matters

On 2/23/21, our Mom went to her final resting place with the Lord. Her journey has compelled us to reach out to those who have been restricted from visitation whether it be a hospital, nursing home, assisted living or any other medical facility. She was admitted to a local hospital on 1/21/21 and her journey to 2/23/21 was a lonely one. No family, no loved ones by her side, no holding hands or personal touch, fighting alone, due to a “policy”. Simply inhumane. As a current healthcare provider myself of over 20+ years with the qualifications to provide care, my calls to provide care and see my mom were met with opposition as I offered to provide the 1:1 care indicated for safety after my mom sustained multiple falls. She was a faithful servant to the Lord and was deprived the the right to see her own Pastor because of a “policy”. A request was made by my mom to see her daughters on 2/22/21 which went unheeded all because of a “policy”.
We believe that the day we leave this earth is known before we are even born and we are at peace with that. What we are not at peace with is the “policy” that prohibited our mother and many others from having their advocates, the comfort, the love of family and loved ones with them. We were all deprived of those last days with our loved one. We know there are so many other families that have experienced the heart wrenching, overwhelming sadness and hopelessness of this situation. The depth of anguish as a result of this “policy” is incomprehensible and inhumane and we pray no other families have to go through this. For this reason we are going to fight for change. If you or somebody you know has had a similar experience and wishes to make change please contact us. We are asking all who feel the inhumanity must stop, those that want to fight for compassion over fear to sign this petition in honor of our mom and those that have suffered beforehand. TOGETHER we can make positive and safe changes while still allowing personal contact. IT CAN BE DONE! Let’s do this. Please share.
