Pablo Tac on This Day

December 13, 1841 - Pablo Tac, California Mission Indian and scholar, died in Rome, where he was studying to be a missionary priest. His hope was to someday return home to California to shepherd his Luiseño brothers and sisters in Christ. His writings are the earliest from a California Indian.
