Many people know that The Black Cauldron is one of Disney's most obscure animated films to date. What some may not know was that the movie had scenes too gruesome to be in the movie that they had to be cut to avoid letting the movie get slapped with a PG-13 or R rating. Some scenes were seamlessly removed, but the removal of some scenes, namely during the Cauldron-Born sequence (the film's climax), were very noticeable. It is also evident because of a jump cut during said sequence due to the music.  If the rumors were true, the movie would have been released on VHS in the late 80s with the removed scenes restored. However, that had not happened due to the success of Disney's The Little Mermaid.  I am making this petition as a way to ask the Walt Disney Company that if they plan to release The Black Cauldron on Blu-ray Disc any time soon, don't miss on this opportunity to release the movie with the cut scenes restored back into the film. After all, if Warner Brothers can release Little Shop of Horrors on Blu-ray with both the theatrical cut and the intended version of the film with the alternate ending that was meant for the film, then I don't see why Disney shouldn't do something similar for one of their more obscure animated films.  Disney, please don't miss out on this golden opportunity to release The Black Cauldron as it should be on Blu-ray, with what was cut reinstated into the film.
