Bring Back Rego Stickers

Bring Back Rego Stickers
The Issue
Enough is enough:
Thousands of NSW drivers are being caught unawares driving their cars unregistered. They are reminded of this realization when fined by the police at RBT stations or police cars equipped with ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology).
Our state governments need to take immediate action to bring back registration reminder stickers. They were abolished in 2013 to “Save money and make life easier for motorists”. This action has netted the NSW government $240M over the pas 6 years and has definitely NOT ‘made our life easier’.(https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/drivers-demand-reminders-for-car-rego-as-nsw-rakes-in-240m-in-fines-20181228-p50ojy.html
Since the removal of this practice, road users have been slugged with hefty fines totaling almost $1500 for not driving insured and not driving registered. They have acted on us drivers' lapse in following up on registration renewals when all can be avoided by bringing back the reminder windshield stickers. The government is able to introduce scanning technology to nab drivers yet unable to send reminder stickers which used to work very well.
We get many reminders to pay our electricity bills, gas bills, rates and taxes yet all we are asking for is a simple rego sticker to be mailed with our registration renewal each year as it was done in the past.
