Currently cats are not protected under the Road Traffic Act 1988, therefore if one is injured or worse killed in an accident the driver does not need to report this! Or stop and move the body out of the road!! I feel that every animal should be included in this act, a cat is as loved as a dog which is covered under this act! I would greatly appreciate the support if you could sign this petition to change the law and make it so these felines need to be reported and action taken upon the unthinkable happening.

We have just sadly lost one of our cats through a tragic accident, which was caught on camera where she was clearly hit and left in the middle of the road!! Luckily a passerby moved her lifeless body  to the side of the road before locating where she lived. My cat may have been still been alive had the driver stopped and sought help! It was 15 mins before sadly someone else found her, in which time she could have been run over again and again. Now picture trying to break the news to your children that their beloved pet has passed away!
