The Monkees have been eligible for induction into The RNRHOF for 25 years. As the story has been told and retold, The Monkees, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones, have entertained audiences for 50 years with music and entertainment. The first tv show which were 30 minute music videos revolutionized the way tv is listened to and music is watched. This tv show turned band had 9 top 10 hits, outsold both The Beatles and Rolling Stones combined. Always acknowledging the song writers, The Monkees had some of the best of the best penning their songs before they took over with their own contribution of Headquarters. Now 50 years later the same magic came back with their first top 100 hit album Good Times, a compilation of some of the original song writers and more current writers who submitted songs for the band. Now in their 70's, they are still entertaining audiences all over the world and deserve to be in the same Hall as those they inspired for the past half a century.
