On many occasions at work myself and another work colleague who are both members of our local RNLI station have had shouts with the RNLI but were not able to attend due to work locations and boss not allowing us to leave work to attend. The area we cover is a prime tourist location which means this may result in many shouts, but we are unable to attend due to reasons I have stated above. We would like to make it mandatory for us to attend just like the fire service do when they are needed during work hours. We would like to make it mandatory for any employer(s) of any RNLI members to allow those members to attend any shouts for them fullfil they're role as an RNLI member.
