Today’s society is difficult for most people, the more we keep going the more money flies away. We are lucky our health services for us humans are covered by our insurances which makes it easier for us. But have you ever thought about how everyone who has a pet which is most likely 3/4 of the population needs to buy health insurance for their dogs or cats..sadly not all homes can afford that insurance it’s not cheap since most people already need to pay for other insurances. For example, my dog had a blockage in his stomach he was crying of pain and would not eat, he ended up having surgery which means a bunch of pain meds and a stay at the hospital to make sure he recovers. He stayed not more than 3 days and the total of money me and my family had to spend was ridiculous. I’ll give u a brief idea, it’s over 3000$ and that is because we personally can’t afford to pay for our pets insurance since we have other insurances to pay every months. In my opinion, I think we can make a change to have our own health care involved with our health care for animals. In that way, if your animal gets sick you don’t need to go completely broke due to your animal being sick. It’s shown that 56% of pet owners aren’t able to afford emergency care for their pets which is quite a lot. You can’t replace a pet, once you get attached and they get attached you become his family, he depends on you. We can’t keep on breaking bonds with animals because of a lack of money. We can do better than this, animals deserve better than this.
