Dear Petioners, the STR moratorium voted on last year is set to expire September 9th. This past year many of us have been continuing the difficult work of trying to accommodate an aggressive Rental Owners coalition while fighting to maintain the peace and serenity we as homeowners and residents of Idyllwild / Pine Cove deserve.  

With the moratorium about to expire we need you to please email Supervisor Perez and Planning Director Hildebrand, both of whom have asked for our input, before significantly revised STR's rules are put into place and we no longer have the protection of the moratorium.

The Ask:  

1) A hard Cap of 400 STR certifications allowed in the Idy/Pine Cove 92549 zip code and;

 2) a density limit of 200 feet between STR's( i.e.,no more than one STR within 200' of one another to avoid over saturation in one particular neighborhood)

Note that our town voted in favor of a 10% cap of about 380 total STR's and a 300' density limit at a series of town hall meetings.  Thus a cap of 400 STR's (11.2% of our total housing stock) and 200' density limit we believe is more than fair.  BUT EVEN THIS MAY BE IN JEOPARDY IF WE DO NOT SPEAK UP AND SPEAK OUT. SO PLEASE SEND YOUR EMAILS IN ASAP,. IT TRULY MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
