With this petition, we want to demonstrate to the Board of Library Trustees that their decision to move the Downtown Library from its current location is one that is not reflective of the opinions of the Riverside residents it represents. 

Moving Riverside's largest publicly accessible learning institution would create a cultural void in the hearts and minds of those that recognize its place in the historical arts and entertainment corridor. Recommended lots for its relocation are much smaller, and although the library must certainly find a way to adapt to a more technologically driven environment, the current library already holds the groundwork to support that, and any other uses that may be needed in the future for our growing population.
