We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the planned redirection of traffic from River Street and River Drive / Highway 67 through our residential streets of Glenwood Avenue and Edgehill Terrace.

This decision was made without public notice, hearings, or community input. While a traffic impact study may have taken place, it has not been made available to affected residents, nor have we been informed of the scope or findings of the study.

Our concerns include:
Serious safety risks due to hilly terrain and multiple blind spots
Increased danger to young children, elderly residents, pedestrians, and cyclists
Lack of infrastructure to safely support diverted highway traffic
No public hearings or notifications prior to the decision
No documentation provided regarding traffic or environmental impacts

Our requests:
Immediately pause any further progress on the rerouting project.
Conduct a formal traffic and safety impact study—specifically encompassing Glenwood Avenue and Edgehill Terrace—and make the results publicly available.
Provide adequate notice and meaningful opportunities for public input, including a community hearing.
Explore alternate traffic solutions that do not endanger residents in established neighborhoods.

We respectfully ask that the City of Davenport reconsider this decision in the interest of public safety, transparency, and responsible urban planning.
