It is no secret that the cost of living in the UK has sky rocketed in recent months. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be an end in sight to these rises either. 

This petition is for immediate action calling for the UK government to immediately increase the current minimum wage by at least £1 an hour to offset the rises in the cost of living.

Some people (particularly those that are low earners), are going to face a very difficult winter this year, as they face the very real decision of choosing between heating their homes or eating. 

Most MPs are removed from knowing the true value of money, especially when trying to budget and run a home. It truly is very hard at the moment to balance the books.

As I write this, the cost of fuel, food and utilities continue to rise at truly unprecedented levels and the UK government MUST act now to help those on the lowest incomes.
