We have a successful self catering holiday accommodation business, where we also live. This is our main job and income, we do not have a second home, and cannot understand the reasoning behind the exclusion of our type of business from the SEISS (Self employed income support service). ‘Furnished Holiday Lets’ are unfairly exempt from this scheme.

We (and many like us in the same situation) had no income since February after the quiet winter months, and were looking forward to the start of the season just before Easter.  We unfortunately had to cancel thousands of pounds of guest bookings due to the Coronavirus, with potentially having to cancel many more unless we are allowed to resume trading. Even then we are running at a loss this year and we were banking on this income to help us through this year. Furloughed staff are getting paid until the end of June and it seems very unfair that we should lose our income the same as many others, but are deemed not eligible even though we meet all the SEISS criteria.
