There are numerous resources of grants, funding, rescues, veterinarians who provide discounted services, volunteers, donations to supply and meet your requirements to hold animals longer than three days before euthanizing them!!! Work with non profit rescues- and turn them over to them! I brought a slightly injured young male unaltered feline in (unfortunately to get it help I had to sign surrender papers) BUT asked them on that Sunday to call on Monday and let me know the extent of the leg injury as I was working to confirm an adoptive family for him through their adoption services. I also offered them up to $500 once I knew the extent of injury and if placement was confirmed, left up to $50+ worth of saleable handmade items as a donation, and assured them up to 5 similar donations of $500 throughout the year provided they work this adoption and see to his medical needs! I called Mobday, Tuesday and Wednesday asking for the status my calls were not returned. by that time, they had already euthanized him - waiting an additional 3 days (from Sunday) before they even took him to the vet to have his injuries examined. By that time, they claimed he was "unmanageable"! This when an 11 yr old and a 13 yr old had already handled him while injured and placed him in a carrier for me to transport. And yes, I finally called and was furious!!! The family wanted to adopt him!!!
