Riot games to apologise for its sexist art promotion and promise to make a change.

The issue

League of legends is the most popular game on the planet.

This gives them a huge amount of power to shape the opinions of their young user base, Unfortunately  Riot has a systemic problem with sexist skin and champion design.

They have promised before to make a change and though they have made several well designed and non-sexualised champions and skins they are lost amongst the ocean of scantily clad, cookie cutter, sexy female tropes that exist in the game.

Their most recent act was a post made by their Facebook page showcasing an artist's work, one of the photos featured two characters from The Incredibles( an animated family film): Mrs Incredible and her daughter, Violet (who is 14) wearing outfits similar to those worn by the champions Evelyn and Zyra. In the photo, they are blatantly sexualised to a degree that goes beyond even what the original champions are.

That Riot would choose to highlight this artwork when they have an essentially unlimited pool from which to draw artwork of similar quality that does not sexualise a 14-year-old kids' film character and her mother only goes to show that they are not committed to eliminating sexism and objectification of women from their game.

We ask that they remove the post and take measures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

We also ask that they promise the community that they will make an effort to reduce sexualisation of female characters to a point where it is an exception, not a rule and that they share how they plan to do so.
