Recycling is a big part of our community. Especially curbside recycling because more people recycle using that way. Not recycling can cause polluted oceans, polluted air, forest fires, climate change, and the execution of animals. Eliminating curbside recycling can take a big toll on the environment. Residents will start to eliminate their waste in harmful ways including burning, throwing it in the trash, littering, and more. Because of polluted oceans and forest fires, animal populations are decreasing at an immense rate. Since 1970, humanity itself has wiped out an average of 68% of the animal population!  From 2000 to 2020, air pollution has increased by an enormous 65%! It affects everyone in some way. All of this is destroying animals, nature, humans, but most importantly, the Earth. Something just as small as keeping curbside recycling can reduce the rate of the Earth’s demise. Removing curbside pickup will corrupt people’s minds into destroying our world without them ever knowing. I believe that if we come together as a community, we can prevent the world from getting worse and we can continue to have recycling available to all citizens in Chesapeake. This will be a new beginning, a new start on reverting the planet back to good, but we can’t do it on our own. We need to come together and use our voices and fight for what we need.
