Breastfeeding is the most natural and healthiest way to feed your baby. It prevents illnesses in both mother and baby and decreases the risks of childhood obesity. It also provides mom and baby with much needed bonding time. This day in age, many new mothers return to work well before their babies have outgrown the need for breast milk, approximately 12 months. Any parent can identify many of the stresses with the first year of their baby. Why add the stress of getting to and from work to the list. I am petitioning the mothers of breastfed babies to be allowed to use the HOV lane. Personally my commute time could be reduced 40% with the use of the HOV lane. I pump at work and I am transporting chilled milk as well as trying to get home to spend a quality hour with my baby before her bedtime. Because my daughter is usually still asleep when I leave for work, I get about 5-8 hours of play time per week with her. Being allowed to use the express lane could add 1.5-3 hours per week and greatly reduce my stress. Please consider all that we working mommies do to care for our little ones.
