Proper Justice for a good dog gone too soon!!
The Issue
Animal cruelity is a world wide taboo as we all know. Every day an animal dies somewhere because of some human being with no heart. For those creatures we have the ASPCA, but what about the ones who are loved so dearly but are killed by a jealous neighbor. That is exactly what happened to a beautiful and caring German Sheperd named Conan. He had a happy home with a lovely family that got him from a friend who was unable to keep him any more and wanted him to still be happy and free. He was shot with a 12 gauge shotgun maliciously while running away from his attacker. Conan and his sister Wooly had gone down a trail that Wooly had been down many times before, while they were playing with another dog, a woman came up presumed to be the third dogs owner, and hollered for her boyfriend, whom then came out with the 12gauge and proceeded to chase Wooly and Conan. As the two were running the man fired a shot which peppered Conan's side, and if you know anything about guns then you know that a target must be atleast 25 feet out for a shotgun shell to even begin to spread out and pepper it. Conan was found dead along the trail and half way home, he was still alive after he was shot.He had gone several yards before falling dead to the ground. When Conan's owners asked why he was shot Ashley Barrett claimed she was afraid for her life. She was then asked about Conan's behavior, she said that he was not aggressive in anyway. When Conan's attacker, Sean Caggiano, and accomplise, Robert Barrett; both seen coming out of the woods with a 12gauge and a revlover in hand; were asked about why Conan was shot one said simply "because he was on my parents' property" the other could not give a straight answer. The police were called but that was a waste because they refused to go question the shooter and then threatened to arrest Conan's owners if they insisted on persuing this matter or taking it to court. All that I ask of anyone reading this is support so that Conan can have the justice he deserves and the right people be put were they belong.
