I am proposing we propose a bill limiting the release of information for school/mass shootings. As we all know, a large portion of these heinous crimes are carried out by individuals that seek to gain fame from their crimes. We must stop this drive. Specifically, we should not release the names or photos of suspected, or convicted, mass murderers. We must be wary of any issues regarding the 1st Amendment. However, there are many instances where we already limit information, and even speech. There are ways that we can discourage any would-be mass murderers. This is only one suggested remedy. The effects may be negligible. But this is a push that can be supported by any political ideology and we must make every effort to protect the masses and discourage deviant behavior.
