I want to ban the sale of animal fur in Richmond-upon-Thames. Two councils  in the UK, Islington and Oldham, have banned the sale of animal fur and I think Richmond should follow suit. The farming of animals for fur is illegal in the UK which suggests the UK  sees  it as cruel and unnecessary but we still import and sell it in the UK.

People do not need animal fur, it's cruel and barbaric and the more councils that ban its sale will eventually result in the ban of it being imported and ultimately could lead to the farming of animals for fur being made illegal

Please help by signing this petition to submit to our local council and MP to ban the sale of animal fur in Richmond and hopefully then more areas will follow.

We are a nation of animal lovers and most of us could not imagine our pets going through what these animals go through in the name of fashion. I have pet rabbits of the same type that  are used a lot in the fur trade and I would hate to think of them being treated so badly and killed just so that someone could have a nice fur hat.

Please help raise awareness about this and sign the petition for another area of the UK to ban the sale of animal fur and let’s hope more areas do the same.
