This week an announcement was made to show previously non-televised football matches on SKY SPORTS BOX OFFICE and BT BOX OFFICE for the price of £15 per game.

On behalf of football fans up and down the country who have been deprived of going to their favourite grounds every weekend to cheer on their beloved teams I urge both companies, the Premier League CEO and every club to reconsider this charge and lower the amount per PPV game to a maximum of £5.

I appreciate these are unprecedented times and clubs and companies still need to make a profit but this is extremely challenging times for the individual; the fan who has already been told for months he cannot go to his/her favourite ground, who now has to suffer the indignation of paying an extra  £15 to follow their team on top of an already expensive BT sport and Sky sports subscription package.

I have to believe that both BT and SKY can easily afford to reduce the PPV cost. After all both companies were making significant profits already prior to this anouncement. I also believe that the finances of all Premier League clubs won't be greatly affected by lowering the price. The impact of the individual fan though will be huge - once again they will feel that football is a game that everyone can afford and enjoy during these difficult times.
