I am a high school student at Tri-County Early College in North Carolina and I believe that everyone should have the right to pray freely in school, including the teachers. We should all be able to talk about our religions and not be scared of getting reprimanded or, for the teachers, fired. I once asked a teacher what religion she was and she asked me if I was trying to get her fired. I wasn't, I genuinely wanted to know. It wouldn't have effected how I treated her, I still would have respected her as my teacher, but I simply asked the teacher out of curiosity. She was too scared to tell me her religion because she was scared I would, somehow, be offended by what religion she was and get her in trouble. I think it's sad that people are scared to profess the religion that this country was built on.  Some times it's so bad that I'm scared to stand up for my religion when it seems as if everyone's against me, including the government. I think that teachers should be able to defend their religion. I don't mean that they should be able to force their religion on others, but that they should be able to help students stand up for what they believe in. I want to start small, in my own state first, but one day I hope that this will grow. I believe that in a time when Christians are being killed for their faith, I think everyone should fight for what they believe, everyone has an opinion. Why should Christians be any different?
