The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is conducting a corridor study of U.S. 401. This study is approximately 19 miles of the U.S. 401 Corridor from Banks Road in Wake County through the Town of Fuquay-Varina to the N.C. 210 and U.S. 421 intersection in the Town of Lillington in Harnett County; and about seven miles for the proposed future U.S. 401. 

Based on the proposed map, the future U.S. 401 bypass is planned to be developed right through or closely near our neighborhoods; a 4-lane road that will destroy our homes, farmland and peaceful country setting. A map of this can be found on the website, www.us401corridorstudy.com This would cause an eminent domain action, forcing us out of our homes, or significantly decreasing the value of them, along with tearing apart farmland, rendering it useless.

I am starting this petition to put a STOP to this study and the proposal of the U.S. 401 bypass so that farmers can continue their livelihood and we can enjoy our homes for years to come. Please help us get the word out there and voice your opposition!
