End Zero Hour Contracts

The Issue

Zero hour contracts are damaging to workers. Unpredictable hours and earnings make it impossible for workers to plan or sustain a decent standard of living. They disproportionately affect young people working in the areas of retail and hospitality. Zero hour contracts also disproportionately impact on women, as 70% of people in precarious work are women. There is also a fear that zero hour contracts are being used a tool by managers to reprimand or reward employees.
