General Information: (For everyone who has been awaiting further word whether we’d be developing an online interactive community for animal supporters everywhere, this web portal is now under active development, thanks to our joint undertaking with All About the Animals. We expect that this portal will be available by Thanksgiving, or before. It is being designed to facilitate widespread exchange of ideas and action plans to address the issues described in item 1. below). Action that is urgently needed: To greatly accelerate shelter reform, your support is urgently needed here at two levels, i.e.: 1. ALL viewers of this update, i.e. those of you throughout the U.S. and our many friends abroad as well: You can readily demonstrate global support for major shelter reform, fighting animal cruelty/abuse, and stopping irresponsible ‘backyard breeding’. ALL of you residing in LA COUNTY: All About the Animals is organizing a critically important protest and march to occur Saturday, October 3 to draw maximum focus on mistreatment of animals within the enormous LA County animal shelter system. This will be a peaceful protest against the inhumane treatment, neglect, wrongful killing, and unsanitary conditions prevalent at LA County animal shelters. Apart from creating greater public awareness of the shocking findings of the protest’s organizers, this is a form of ‘consumer action’ that needs to be expanded to uncaring status quo shelters throughout the U.S. and beyond. IT IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT…PLEASE… THAT JUST AS MANY OF YOU AS POSSIBLE ATTEND THIS PROTEST (…AND to please take just a moment to indicate that you’ll be attending, as addressed below). Even if you attend the protest…or simply cannot attend... and are U.S. citizen, we urge you to complete the top portion of the Citizen Complaint Form and mail it to the Los Angeles County Civil Grand Jury (address shown at bottom of Complaint Guidelines form).
