Animal Cruelty is a huge epidemic across the globe. Our state needs to join the fight and stop these horrific people. The first step is to make worst punishments for ANY AND ALL acts of violence on these voiceless, innocent animals. It has recently been brought to my attention about a huge dog fighting ring in Erie, PA. Just at the house where this was discovered there were 11 dogs in total. After the police left the scene, only 5 were taken into custody and ZERO charges were made. This being my hometown, nothing could infuriate me or sicken me so much. How could law enforcement willingly leave these dogs, knowing they are being tortured and tormented. It only took me minutes to search facebook and find HUNDREDS of others involved with dog fighting and/or breeding. When a concerned citizen questioned police on why nothing was being done to stop these individuals bragging about dog fighting, they responded that they don't worry about things posted on facebook. Meanwhile, these animals suffer when evidence and names are posted for anyone plain as day to see. This is just one example of far too many animal cruelty cases that go without punishment. Something needs to be done, laws NEED to be stiffened and followed to protect these innocent creatures from lifetimes of pain, agony, and torture. No one or nothing deserves the torment these animals are put through.
