RI House and Senate: Prevent the Breed Specific bills H 5287 and S 178 from advancing
Breed specific legislation is unjust. Stop punishing responsible dog owners and their pets!
In the words of the AKC "The American Kennel Club strongly opposes any legislation that determines a dog to be "dangerous" based on specific breeds or phenotypic classes of dogs. We support laws that: establish a fair process by which specific dogs are identified as "dangerous" based on stated, measureable actions; impose appropriate penalties on irresponsible owners; and establish a well-defined method for dealing with dogs proven to be dangerous."
- House Committee on Judiciary - Chairperson
Representative Edith H. Ajello
- Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture - Chairperson
Senator V. Susan Sosnowski
- Rhode Island State House
Prevent the Breed Specific bills H 5287 and S 178 from advancing. Rhode Islanders will not stand for this! Breed Specific Legislation is wrong!
