As many students of Roosevelt High School and others have been informed, on March 4th, 2026, a student attempted suicide under school supervision, where staff failed to recognize a person in dire need of help. Following the incident, students who were affected (some having witnessed the incident itself, others with connections to the student) requested a brief intermission in the usual strain of student life. They were blatantly denied this justice, and that alone cannot be stood for. Sign this petition to advocate for a mourning period to honor the student and the value of mental health.
