Dear Neighbours,

I just wanted to update you in relation to the petition and progress that has been made so far. It is fantastic that the community do care about the issues faced in the area we reside within Queens Park, Bedford.

Further to my meeting with local councillors and my discussion with members of the police service, I have been advised that the petition is a great way for our voices to be heard and concerns that we face on daily basis!  However along with the petition we have been advised that we also need to report ALL incidents namely some of the below:

Key reasons to report antisocial behaviour to the council:

**Noise nuisance: Loud music, late-night parties, excessive shouting, or constant disturbances at unreasonable hours.

**Verbal abuse or harassment: Threats, intimidation, offensive language, or unwanted attention from neighbours.

**Vandalism or graffiti: Deliberate damage to property, including buildings, fences, or public spaces

**Littering or fly-tipping: Improper disposal of rubbish in public areas

**Drug related activity: Suspected drug dealing or use in a visible manner

**Parking issues: Repeatedly blocking access to driveways or parking in prohibited areas

**Animal nuisance: Uncontrolled pets causing disturbances or creating health hazards

**Unruly behaviour in public spaces: Disorderly conduct, fighting, or excessive noise in parks or communal areas

If I could please ask everyone to fill in the form below and report, as this will hold more weight to our petition and our voices heard. I appreciate that it does take time and effort however this is for the long term not short term, the issue will not go away and make our streets to be made safer if we do not follow the process…

Key benefits of reporting anti-social behaviour to the council:

·       Potential for resolution:

Councils have powers to investigate and address anti-social behaviour, which may include issuing warnings, mediation, or taking legal action depending on the severity of the issue.

·       Community safety:

By reporting issues, you contribute to a safer neighbourhood by helping to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.

·       Early intervention:

Reporting incidents early can allow the council to take proactive steps to prevent the behaviour from worsening or impacting other residents.

·       Evidence building:

Repeated reports of anti-social behaviour from different residents can strengthen the case for further action against the perpetrator.

·       Support for vulnerable individuals:

Councils may have dedicated teams to assist vulnerable individuals experiencing anti-social behaviour.

·       Improved communication:

Reporting issues can open up communication channels between residents and the council, allowing for better understanding of local concerns.
