Revoke the Social Media Regulation Act in Utah
The Issue
I am a resident of Utah, deeply concerned about the impact of the Social Media Regulation Act on our community. This act is not only invading our privacy but also limiting our children's ability to have fun and enjoy themselves. The restrictions imposed by this act are causing undue stress and could potentially increase depression rates among kids.
The American Psychological Association has found that social media can provide critical support networks for youths dealing with mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. By restricting access to these platforms, we risk isolating them further. Furthermore, according to a study by Stanford University, regulations like these can inadvertently limit freedom of speech – a fundamental right enshrined in our Constitution.
We need to ensure that any regulation on social media use respects individual privacy rights and does not harm the mental health of our youth or infringe upon their freedom of speech. Therefore, we call upon lawmakers in Utah to reconsider this act.
Please join us in revoking the Social Media Regulation Act in Utah for a healthier and freer future for all residents. Sign this petition today and fight for our freedom!
