The new cell phone policy implemented by the Tam Union High School district's administration, without fully considering the thoughts and opinions of all students, is excessively restrictive and negatively impacts both students and teachers.  Furthermore, it takes away the freedom of the teacher to make their own decisions on how they want cell phones in class to be handled.  This policy is not only an infringement on personal freedom but also a potential safety concern. In the event of an emergency, it's crucial for students to have immediate access to their cell phones.  We urge the Tam Union High School district in Marin County, CA to reconsider this policy for the betterment of our community's education and safety.
