REVOKE THE KILL ORDER OF A MOTHER BEAR BY CA FISH AND WILDLIFE

The Issue

We, the undersigned, urgently call on the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to revoke the order to kill a mother bear in Tuolumne County who recently attacked a hiker. It is essential to recognize that when we enter national parks, we accept the inherent risks of encountering wildlife, especially a mother bear protecting her cubs.

This situation is not the fault of the bear, nor the hiker; it is simply nature at work. Human attempts to control nature by killing animals disrupt the delicate balance of our ecosystems and go against the very principles of conservation that our tax dollars are supposed to support. Using taxpayer money to kill wildlife contradicts the foundation of our national parks and could be seen as an unconstitutional misuse of public funds.

The bear population in California is already at risk, with their natural habitats increasingly encroached upon by human activity. This mother bear and her cubs should be allowed to live in peace and continue to contribute to the future of their species.

The situation is dire—California Fish and Wildlife agents are actively hunting this bear right now. We must act swiftly to stop this order and protect this mother bear so she can raise the next generation of black bears in California.

Please sign and share this petition immediately. Together, we can save a life.

Thank you.
