On April 11th, 2024, Dwight Alexander Bennett was murdered. He was only 20 years old, shot five times by William Nelson Campbell. He attempted to murder another person that was able to survive their injuries, then smiled and spoke the words that he was going to murder everyone in the apartment complex and then shoot himself. A legally blind man miraculously was able to apprehend him until cops arrived, and the legally blind man's girlfriend held Dwight (Alex) Bennett as he died. William Nelson Campbell was given bond, was indicted on April 15th and was even given a reduced bond. The judge that is over this case (i will update once i have a name and info) has decided to give the homicidal murderer a chance to roam free on a reduced bond, therefore giving William Nelson Campbell the opportunity and means to continue murdering and likely murder again. Campbell is being shown that the consequences of his actions are small, that his decision to take lives results in a penalty that is virtually none, and this is perpetuating a cycle seen too often in the justice system, that there is no justice. 

Dwight Alexander Bennett has not even been laid to rest as of this moment, and this murderer is already given the chance to be back in the outside world, being given the opportunity to hurt more people intentionally. 

Help our family get justice where none is being given. Help us put and keep this murderer back where he belongs. How long will it be before another life is taken? Will he ever see any consequence for this senseless murder at all? If we do not take action, if we do not advocate for Dwight Alexander Bennett, who will? We know who is advocating for his murderer, a person in a position to revoke this bond. 

This is not okay. It should not have to happen to you for it to matter to you. Speak out and shine a big bright light on the injustice shown. Every single person that advocates, every single share counts. His life mattered and his story matters. There are people in a position to change the outcome, yet have chosen thus far to do the unthinkable, which is show that justice doesn't come to murderers like William Nelson Campbell.
