The Issue

In Scotland, planning permission can be revoked (withdrawn) under section 65 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997

Save Paisleys Green Space (SPGS) needs every single person that reads this to sign our petition to revoke the planning permission for the residential development of 603 dwellings (not affordable housing) on the species rich grasslands and wetland at Dykebar Hospital grounds in Paisley. AND send on to 10 more friends, family and neighbours.

10,000 SIGNATURES is our aim. With a bit of effort, it can be done

SPGS argues that the granted permission (PPA-350-2038) suffers from several critical flaws.

SPGS argues that the planning permission is erroneous and warrants revocation to prevent huge environmental damage and to protect the community and remaining countryside amenity of Paisley South.

Grounds for revocation include

Materially Inaccurate Information

Adverse Impact on the Environment

Conflicts with Local Development Policies

Impacts on Heritage and Conservation

Impacts on Highway Safety

Non-compliance with National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) and the Renfrewshire Local Development Plan 2 (2021):

Our report will be thorough but one look at this highly biodiverse species rich grassland and it is apparent that the loss of this green space will be a travesty now and for all future generations

Paisley South’s remaining green belt and green space is being dismantled piece-by-piece for profit and ‘economic benefit’

However, the economic benefit is only temporary and comes at too high a cost to local wildlife and community green space.

Ren Council benefits the most from more council tax but more housing means more services to pay for so no real net gain.

The community already said NO and we reject the decison made by one person, one official in Edinburgh with no local knowledge.

Please do not sit and mourn the loss of veteran and ancient trees
