247 supporters, but it's taking time for state and territory bodies to advocate to Dogs Australia

A letter pleading to ‘Revoke mandatory muzzling of sighthounds participating in team Lure Coursing events’, was emailed to each of the Dogs Australia State and Territory member bodies on the 10th April, highlighting the support of 204 petition signatures.

Since that time, support for the petition to 'Revoke mandatory muzzling for sighthounds in team Lure Coursing Events' has continued to grow to 247 signatures. Thank you for your support!

Escalating this issue through State and Territory member bodies is new ground for me. Since sending the letter, I have received replies from 2 of the 8 member bodies:

  • Dogs Victoria (19 May) have tabled this issue for their June Management Committee meeting. The outcome is pending the publication of the minutes.
  • Dogs Tasmania replied quickly (16 April) saying I had to take this issue through my own member body (Dogs SA).

I am seeking updates on the consideration of this issue monthly. It's a positive sign, that to consider the issue, it takes time to follow internal processes. I sincerely hope that the time the remaining 6 member bodies are taking reflects their interest in considering the issue.
