This is a heartfelt appeal for justice from the citizens in Georgia, where misconduct by an attorney named Kathryn Franklin has had life-altering impacts on us, our children, and our community. Harnessing the very essence of professional ethics, Kathryn has displayed severely unethical behavior, revealing alarming dishonesty, theft, and fraudulent activities. Her reckless conduct, combined with her practice of making knowingly false statements, raises substantial questions about her honesty, trustworthiness, and fitness to practice law. We believe these offenses are not isolated incidents, but symptoms of a larger issue and probably an impairment that impedes her ability to perform her duties and act ethically. 

The main purpose of attorney discipline is to protect the public and uphold the integrity of the bar, rather than merely punishing the erring attorney. However, Kathryn's behavior has aggressively breached this principle. Such conduct not only undermines public confidence in the legal profession but also distresses individuals and clients like us, causing substantial harm.

While it pains us to seek such severe measures, disbarment seems necessary given Kathryn's intentional dishonesty for personal gain.

In cases of intentional dishonesty, misappropriation, fraud, criminal conduct, and the like, only the most compelling extenuating circumstances warrant a sanction less than disbarment.

We are hereby demanding that the State Bar of Georgia open an investigation into this unethical attorney and suspend her license to practice law for the duration of the investigation considering she is causing harm to the public by her harmful actions. 

Our case is not unique. In fact, statistics show that up to 0.5% of attorneys are disbarred annually in the U.S., often for similar reasons (American Bar Association report, 2019). We plead with you to help us uphold the integrity of the law in the State of Georgia and across the United States by revoking Kathryn's permission to practice law.
