The Issue

As an Indian deeply connected to my nation's rich landscapes and as a global citizen advocating for environmental welfare, I am deeply disturbed by the recent judgement ruling Aravalli Hills as non-hills, opening them to the devastating impacts of mining and exploitation.

Such a ruling ignores the vital role Aravalli Hills play as a natural barrier against the harsh weather influences and sandstorms originating from the Thar Desert. This region is more than just an accumulation of geological formations; it is a living, breathing ecosystem that supports a wide array of wildlife. The disruption of this habitat through mining activities threatens not only the biodiversity but also the ecological balance within this part of India.

According to environmental studies, regions like Aravalli Hills serve as crucial climate regulators and erosion inhibitors, playing significant roles in preventing desertification—a growing threat in India. Furthermore, Aravalli’s unique flora and fauna are unmatched treasures of our natural heritage that deserve protection over short-term economic gains.

Allowing mining in Aravalli sets a dangerous precedent that values industrial expansion over environmental preservation, posing an irreversible threat to India's ecological identity. The destruction of Aravalli Hills equals a step towards the deterioration of India's natural wealth, impacting not only the inner ecosystems but the human lives relying on them for climate moderation and agricultural stability.

We urge Indian authorities to reconsider their decision and to take into account more than the superficially economic benefits. By revoking this ruling and denying mining rights, we protect an essential element of India's natural defence and maintain the ecological sanctity of Aravalli Hills.

Join us in this cause to stop this judgement. Stand with us to protect Aravalli Hills from exploitation. Protecting this region is a direct stand for preserving India’s environmental future, combating climate change, and fostering a sustainable living world.

Please sign this petition to make our voices heard. Let us come together to defend not just a hill, but the future of our environment, our country, and our planet's health.
