Revoke High Vibe's License to Operate in Milford
The Issue
Every morning, I wake up to more disheartening news about High Vibe Trail Rides in Milford, Michigan, and the appalling state in which the horses are kept. Today, I saw new comments flooding my feed about how the horses were returned to High Vibe. It's crucial we address the real story that’s been hidden. A veterinarian evaluated these horses and found shocking conditions that would make anyone with a conscience pause.
Twenty of the horses were in such poor condition that they shouldn’t be ridden without treatment and reevaluation. Nine needed immediate care just to be comfortable. According to the vet’s notes, four horses had wounds requiring medical attention, nineteen had leg injuries affecting their mobility, and nine suffered from back pain due to improper tack fit. These findings are just part of the disturbing picture of neglect.
All 37 horses had sharp teeth, indicating a clear lack of dental care, and sixteen showed signs of poor parasite management with high fecal counts. The majority had overgrown hooves and thrush, pointing to a dire need for hoof care. The overall body condition was concerning, with muscle atrophy and a lack of topline, all signs of improper nutrition and inadequate housing environments. Furthermore, most horses suffered from tendon sheath or joint issues, indicative of overwork and poor living conditions.
With such overwhelming evidence of neglect, it's shocking and irresponsible that Oakland County Animal Control allowed these horses to return to High Vibe. This is not about a disgruntled employee; numerous people have shared their experiences and concerns about the handling of these animals. We cannot stand by while this organization continues to operate, putting the welfare of these horses at risk daily.
We must act now. I urge the authorities to revoke High Vibe Trail Rides' license to operate and ensure these horses receive the care and protection they deserve. Sign this petition to demand change and protect the welfare of these innocent animals.
