We’ve launched a petition demanding urgent action on abuse, neglect, and dangerously inadequate staffing at Virginia’s long-term care facilities. This is not a problem that can wait—lives are on the line.
But when Candace Campbell brought this to Senator Mark D. Obenshain’s office, his aide suggested it would be “too difficult” to take meaningful action this year, EVEN WHEN CANDACE POINTED OUT THAT A SPECIAL SEASION COULD BE CALLED AND EMERGENCY ACTION TAKEN.
Let’s be clear: our elected officials work for us. If they won’t take bold action in times of crisis, we the voters can—and will—choose others who will. We need a special session called NOW to address this emergency. Not next year. Not next session. NOW.
